I read the comments about Securus America and it's crazy that someone would take the time to bash a company that goes well out of its way to make you succeed.

Securus goes out of its way to make you succeed? You must be talking about another company.

They are crooks. You can read it all over the internet. If you have a loved one in jail, you are forced to use securus to receive phone calls. If there is money left over, they keep it.

They showed my brother made calls 2 weeks after he discharged. I sent faxes proving it to them, and nothing.

Calls will not connect

It's sad that a company who has the privilege to service so many families have such *** service. It's hard enough being away from the one you love and the only source of connection is through a service that has no compassion for the families who invest in the success in their business only to be dealt call drops, calls not connecting, and no technical support to properly troubleshoot multiple issues. Not to mention holding over 40 minutes per call only to be hung up on, or spoken to rudely after reaching a live rep who still has no clue how to assist customers. I wish I could go back to global tel link. I need to start a petition.......

For six weeks I’ve had routing issues where my husband calls me and the lines never connect. For six weeks I’ve caleld Secrus and submitted over ten tickets.

I’ve requested to be transferred to the I.T department and was denied that and told that the representive can’t even speak to them. Every representative has told me something different when the issue first started happening and now that I have numourous notes and tickets on my account everyone agrees by reading the I.T department notes that it’s a routing issue and they claim it will be resolved. ITS NOT BEING RESOLVED! My phone will work for a few days after a ticket had even submitted then stop again.

I used to get a call for a few days in a row before I had to call back Secrus and complain now I get a call every few days and when I call Secrus they can clearly see all the attempts and then they submit yet again another TICKET! The last representive I spoke to told me that once my husband calls me the call is routed to Secrus and then Secrus uses a carrier to route to me and there is some sort of Issue there and that I.T will see the issue that they will fix it. I remind them that the issue they are claiming will be fixed is a temporary fix since I constantly have to call back. This is unacceptable.

I request a supervisor to speak to and the reps tell me none are available. I request a call back from a supervisor and they tell me I have to wait 48 hrs and NO ONE CALLS. I found a corporate number in an online forum along with the corporate head quarters adress and I will be calling it Monday since I’ve spent six weeks begging for this issue to be resolved. I have the names and dates of everyone I spoke to along with the ticket numbers and I will be reporting everything to corporate.

I have three numbers on my prepaid account and every time I call I express the specific phone number having the issue (the other two numbers are waiting for facility approval) and the representatives have even even filed tickets under the wrong number several times now waisitng my time waiting for I.T to reject the ticket due to the inactive number. Any other company this would be considered unacceptable yet Secrus’s subpar service is allowed because it’s prison related!

The calls keep getting dropped to the tunee of close to 80.00. I dont know about you but i work to *** hard for my money, for this to keep happening and you company not compenate us.

Dropped account, and failed calls

On Christmas eve, my brother tried to call from Cheshire Correctional, call wouldn't go through. When I tried to find out why, was told there was no account for the phone....have been using this phone for 3 years! I had to open a new account, and fund it, too late to get any calls that night... called next day, told account was dropped due to not being used in 90 days!. Apparently they cancel the account, don't notify, or give refund. When I complained, was told that that is the way the system is set up, nothing can be done about it, but I could request a refund in writing. Also, most of the time, can not accept the calls, system does not recognize pressing the button, asks 3 times if you want to accept, then hangs up.

Securus Technologies - Inmate Phone Service Review from Mountain View, California

I pay for a PREPAID COLLECT CALLING account in PA. My inmate couldn't get through to me calling collect so I go into the account and find it's blocked!! I call Securus to remove the block and am told I can't use the transfer service that PA DOC says I can legally use (local number that transfers to my home phone). I was told I have to PROVE OWNERSHIP of the number!! So I have them change the number to my office line that has had a Collect Call Block on it to prevent people from calling collect or making third party billing calls. Now Securus tells me I have to remove that block for a PREPAID SERVICE!! *** SECURUS!! Easier to send money for a phone card so my inmate can call transfer service instead. Have filed a major fraud complaint with PA DOC and State Attorney General's Office!! Suggest you call the FCC & PUC too if dealing with Securus because Federal Law says they can't do the practices they are doing.

Securus is the most abusive company that I have ever encountered. They do not abide by the law.

They cut off service and say tat we have not paid, however they have not sent out hard copies (paper statements ) as perscribed by law. Their customer service people have an attitude like a can of worms, as it crawls all over you.

I truly feel sorry for you if you have to try and resolve an issue with Securus . I just wonder how many others have been abused by this company and it's customer's service personell.

My frustrating experience is this...several times securus has terminated my call with my son, claiming that I was attempting a "third-party" call. This is totally false and each call puts $14.99 in securus' bank account.

You do the math on THAT one. One last thing, to get a refund one must dial (866) 229-****...Verizon informs me that number has been changed, but without an alternate number.

Inmate could not call out after we had put in$25 on our acct and his Mom's. He finally got through and this last time, a recording said they had one minute. He had never gotten through to us on a cell. The time he tried, a recording came on and said that we would have to pay money, and we had $25 in the acct. it is just confusing. I have attempted to call and email the company and nothing. No response. I want to talk to a person or I want my money refunded and want to know why he had One minute. If they are out of funds, how expensive is one call?

Calls never received

Secures was VERY quick to open an account and take money and now no calls come through and their solution is to troubleshoot the problem and if it doesn't work in 3-4 days I have to call back and start all over. REALLY.?.? If I ran my business that way I would have gone under within 3 months. Shame on them for taking money and not providing the PAID FOR service. Please people......don't waste your money. Write or visit your loved one, don't waste your money on this scam. While waiting for customer service I heard approx 7 messages encouraging the caller to enroll in auto pay. Once someone actually answered, there was no help and no solution, just pass it up the chain. Don't fall for auto pay.....choose never pay! I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB and state corrections system for what it's worth.

This is the worst *** company ever. I deposited 25 on my phone acct after 1 15 min call I'm down to 13 and some change and the charges on my transaction history don't even add up to 25 bucks. Absolutely ridiculous do not use this company period!! And by the way I've used a number of companies over the years to talk to a loved one and this is by far the worst and you can't even get in contact with customer service . Thank god I am only out 25 bucks but I intend to let everyone I can possibly think of know how terrible this company is. Excuse me while I continue writing reviews wherever possible on the net to inform other victims before its too late.

Dropped Calls on Cell Phones

Went almost a year with not a single problem with calls dropping, all of a sudden my calls are dropping after 10 minutes and im still being charged for the whole phone call... *** SERVICE. The company has no compassion for people that have bills to pay outside of talking to their loved ones. Money is not easy to come by and the people in charge of this JOKE of a company only care about their bills being paid with OUR money. What is it going to take for them to change a few things so they do not recieve all these bad reviews?

I set up an account and they automatically charged me 29.98 plus 16.00 for a surcharge and the money they charged my credit card never went to my friend in Jail. Called the jail and they told me that because of the fake securus sites being made they now use touchpaydirect. Wish I had known that before they automatically stole 50.00 from me!!

I just had put minutes on my phone but when my son attempted to call me every time his phone calls was dropped. When i call to complaint they said they was sorry they couldn't refund any of my money and ask if they could help me with anything else. My response was no because you already said you couldn't help me get a refund but instead you reather rip people off. I agree this a rip off after I done spent over thousands of dollars adding minutes through this phone services.
